Hello

Connie Lansberg writes songs the way she once wanted to write novels, story first, words falling out fast, melody and key found afterward. The result is a catalogue that sits comfortably between jazz and pop: crystalline, unhurried, and built to be sung.

Born in the San Fernando Valley, she left for London to study acting, did well at it, then immigrated to Australia and fell into music instead. She never left. Over a string of self-produced albums, including Tsera's Gift and Alone With Bees, she became Australia's most-streamed jazz artist, with over 12 million Spotify streams and a sound critics have traced back to Blossom Dearie, Madeleine Peyroux and Carole King. PBS Jazz Radio put it plainly: "poised, beautiful, and stylishly attired, Connie Lansberg commands her audience's attention from the first note."

She's also a published author, and that writer's instinct runs through everything. Her songs don't follow a pop formula, so they tend to open up on the second or third listen rather than the first.

Out of that work came Transformational Entertainment, her own approach to using music to move stuck emotion, and the book that grew from it, Your Healing Is a Song, which arrives with a workbook and a playlist.

She lives in Melbourne, plays as often as a city with five jazz clubs and five thousand jazz bands allows, and puts on her own gigs when it doesn't.
