Sound Healing Music: How a Jazz Voice Moves Emotional Energy
Updated: Aug 25

Most sound healing sounds the same. You lie on a mat, someone strikes a singing bowl or a gong, a low drone fills the room, and for an hour you drift. It is lovely. I have nothing bad to say about a good sound bath. But I want to tell you about a different way to use sound to move emotion, because it is the way I have built my whole life's work around, and it does something the bowls do not.
I am a jazz vocalist. My instrument is the human voice, singing actual songs, with real musicians playing real instruments beside me. Where conventional sound healing leans on tone and vibration alone, I work through song. That means the experience is beautiful to listen to on its own terms, and it does its work at the same time. You are not enduring a drone to get a result. You are enjoying music that happens to move stuck energy while you listen.
Why sound moves anything at all:
Start with the part science already agrees on. Sound is not just something you hear. It is something that rearranges matter.
The mechanism is called entrainment. When a powerful rhythmic vibration meets a weaker one, the weaker one locks into step with it. Picture two pendulums swinging side by side. Over time, they end up moving together. At a performance, your body is the weaker pendulum and the music is the guiding force. Your internal rhythms- heart rate, breath, and brainwaves- begin to lock into the music. That is not mysticism; it is physics, and it is measurable.
Music measurably lowers cortisol, slows the heart, and releases dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins. There is also cymatics, where you can literally watch sound organize sand and water into intricate geometric patterns. Vibration shaping matter, right in front of your eyes. And there is the work of researcher Anthony Holland, who spent years destroying microorganisms using nothing but precisely combined frequencies. If sound can shatter a cell, the idea that it can dislodge a stuck emotion stops sounding far-fetched.
I am thrilled that science keeps catching up to what some of us have known for years.
Where my method goes further:
Entrainment raises your frequency to meet the music. That is step one, and any beautiful music can do a version of it. Step two is what I bring through Transformational Entertainment™. I channel frequencies from the seventh and twelfth dimensions, embedded through my voice and into the music itself. To my knowledge, no one else in the world is doing this. It is the reason this work does not sound or feel like anything else, and the reason it reaches places a beautiful melody on its own cannot.
There are two frequencies in my voice that act like a scalpel, cutting around calcified energy so it can dislodge and finally finish its journey out of the body. A singing bowl fills a room with one broad tone. A song, built around a named energy and carried by a voice doing precision work, goes to a specific place.
Your only job in all of this is awareness. You do not have to feel the emotion, understand the lyrics, or even like the music. You stay within earshot, keep a gentle awareness of the energy the song is working with, and let it do its job. The dose is at least six listens.
What release actually feels like:
People expect fireworks. It is usually quieter than that. Sometimes warmth spreads through the chest. Sometimes tears arrive out of nowhere with no story attached. Sometimes a yawn that goes on far too long. Sometimes just an odd lightness on the drive home that you only notice later.
Crying is one of the best ways energy leaves the body. My husband will ask me mid-tears, are you crying or releasing energy, and the honest answer is that crying is always energy leaving your body. If a song brings tears and you feel lighter for days afterward, that is not a breakdown. That is a backlog clearing.
What trauma actually is:
It helps to be clear about what trauma is, because the word sounds bigger and more frightening than the thing itself. Trauma is not the event. Trauma is an unfinished experience. An emotion that rose up during something hard, never got to complete its journey through you, and so it stayed, trapped, quietly, or not so quietly, begging to be set free. Some of it has been stuck for so long that you have no memory of how it got there, and that is completely fine. You do not need the memory to heal it.
This is the part that surprises people most. You do not have to remember the experience or relive it. The songs let you finish the experience gently, from the outside in, so the trapped emotion can finally complete its journey and leave. Finishing it is one more step back toward your true self, and Transformational Entertainment is built to let you do that without ever having to open the old wound again.
Why healing happens in layers:
Healing is not one big release. It happens in layers, and there is a good reason for that. Your nervous system stores stress, trauma, and old emotional pain as trapped energy and physical tension, and it cannot safely process all of that at once. So it releases gradually, peeling back one layer only when it feels safe enough and has the capacity to handle what is underneath.
The layers tend to run from the surface down to the core. First, the physical layer, where unresolved emotion shows up as tension, tightness, or fatigue. Then the emotional layer, the buried fear, grief, and anger that never finished moving. And underneath that, the belief layer, the root, where the old stories you formed about yourself still quietly run the show.
This is why the work is a practice and not a single event. Your system surfaces one layer, you clear it, you integrate, and only then does it feel safe to bring up the next. It rarely moves in a straight line. It spirals, so you meet a familiar feeling again, but from higher up, with more capacity to release it. Each conscious listen peels back a little more, which is why the dose is at least six listens, and why the songs keep giving every time you return to them.
Why I use song instead of tones:
Two reasons, and they matter.
First, real music made by real musicians in the present moment carries something that computer-generated tone or even a sung single note does not. Music made with computers cannot raise your vibrational point of attraction the way live human playing can. So every song I record is played by real people on real instruments.
Second, sustainability. A drone asks you to stop your life and lie down. A song fits inside your life. You can work with it in the car, in the kitchen, on a walk, with a glass of wine waiting at home. The methods that actually change people are the ones they will still be doing in six months, and hardly anybody keeps up an hour of daily silence. Six conscious listens to a song you enjoy- in the car, on your walk,
they keep up.
How to start
If you want to feel this for yourself, start with the free Musical Energetic Wellness Gift on my site, then explore the playlist that goes with my book, Your Healing Is A Song. Pick one song, find out which energy it works with, and listen six times with gentle awareness. Then watch the small stuff over the next week. Did a bad mood lift faster than usual? Did you sleep deeper? That is your evidence, and it is the only kind that counts.
If you want to know exactly which energies you personally need to move, my Mini-Reading is the place to start. It gives you your Soul Gift, your Soul Tribe traits, the four songs your emotional body needs most right now, and a clearing of your Godspark, the main socket where energy enters. You will find it on the Soul Reading and Bonus page.
Sound healing does not have to mean bowls and drones. It can mean a song you would happily play anyway, quietly doing its work while you listen.
